Recognizing the uniqueness of our profession and the need to keep pace with the ever changing, dynamic and challenging Air Traffic Management environment, we quickly became a member of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (IFATCA) in 3rd April 1998.
With the affiliation with IFATCA, hundreds of members have had the opportunity of being in the center of the action in International Conferences, Regional Meetings, Symposiums; listening and talking to subject matter experts.
ATCAS knows the importance of work life balance and creates opportunities for interaction with like-minded people outside the “official” forums as well. Events like friendly games with our ASEAN counterparts and visits to ATC facilities in other countries are just a few examples. The ATC Goodwill Games with our Malaysian counterparts, which started 1990, is an annual event.
In October 2002, ATCAS brought the 19th IFATCA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting to Singapore. About 100 delegates from Asia-Pacific countries such as Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Macau and observers from India, Vietnam, the International Air Transport Association, Airline Pilots Association Singapore and International Federation of Airline Pilots’ Association attended the Meeting. The Guest-of-Honor was the then Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Yeo Cheow Tong.
Once again, in November 2011, ATCAS brought the 28th IFATCA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting to Singapore. The Guest-of-Honor was Mr. Lui Tuck Yew Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.
